The holidays finished and the workshops again stared in schools of 9 municipalities of Western Georgia. On September 17, 18 and 20, workshops on conflict resolution were held in the schools of the villages Zeda Simoneti (Terjola municipality), Ganmukhuri (Zugdidi municipality) and Senaki school No. 3.
Pupils were actively involved in the process. Their evaluation is interesting:
"I am satisfied with myself; I already know how to get out of a difficult situation."
"This day was full of information, I learned a lot of new and necessary."
“We have analyzed what is conflict and what is peace. I really enjoyed working with friends”.
The work of the Youth Clubs in the regions of Western Georgia was resumed. For the six-month cooperation, new schools were selected - in Simoneti (Terjola municipality), Teklati (Senaki municipality), Orsantia (Zugdidi municipality).
The first meetings were already held. The interest is great not only from students, but also from school directors and teachers. Plans for the future are following: various activities, exchange meetings.
Unusually crowded was the office of the Fund "Sukhumi". 19 representatives from 9 municipalities (Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Terjola, Lanchkhuti, Ozurgeti, Senaki, Poti, Zugdidi), as well as several parents and teachers were presented.
The final meeting of the Youth Clubs was held with different format. It was funny, interesting, original...
They talked about what was done in terms of violence prevention, shared their experiences with each other, developed proposals and plans for more effective integration of activities into the educational process.
Feedback was done in the yard of Bagrati Temple. Many warm words were said - thanks, love, joy... most important is the team, which is going to carry out lots of good activities from the new school year.
In Kutaisi, in the Fund “Sukhumi” summarizing workshop finished the 5 month cycle of workshops on the topic: “Teaching the conflict management on schools”. The meeting was attended by the young conflictologists – workshop participants, held in 9 schools of 9 municipalities, also the parents and teachers – 26 people on a whole.
Participants summarized the gained knowledge, they talked about the changes and impact, which they felt themselves. They mentioned that similar meetings are essential in all schools, in order to teach children the conflict management at early age and resolve the conflicts peacefully.
Parents expressed their thoughts:
"A wonderful day, a day of positive." “Thank you so much for taking care of our children.” "I attend for the first time and I am delighted!" "It is evident that they have carried out fruitful work."
As one teacher noted, “you can work all year and do not achieve anything, but to achieve such a result in 5 months is a great merit of a trainer who cooperates so well with students.”
At the end of the meeting, participants received certificates. The event was finished with an excursion to the Bagrati Temple.
Final meetings were held with groups of boys in the municipalities of Khoni (June 3), Lanchkhuti (June 4), Tskaltubo (June 5), Zugdidi (June 6), Poti (June 7), Senaki (June 10), Terjola (June 11), Kutaisi (June 12), Ozurgeti (June 14). 1-2 boys were chosen from each group, who made a presentation about the role of men in the family and society. During the discussion they talked about the dangers of violence. Particular attention was paid to their role in solving the problem. It was noted how important it is to hold such meetings. The fact that these guys are ready to continue working, to disseminate information further in future.
Informational meetings of the Youth Clubs were held at school No. 33 in Kutaisi, in Khajalia (Lanchkhuti municipality) and Zeda Simoneti (Terjola municipality). This completed the planned nine meetings on ethics and aesthetics, healthy lifestyle and sex education.
Like the other clubs, there was also great interest from young people and their inclusion. Various problems emerged: drugs, early marriage, migration, alienation in family relationships ...
Five months of conflict management were summarized at workshops in public schools of the village Kveda Simoneti (Terjola municipality), the village Nigvziani (lanchkhuti municipality) and school No. 15 in Kutaisi,
The students expressed regression about the completion of the work, and the teachers expressed the hope for continued cooperation. According to them, the participants were very interested in the topic, they learned how to manage conflicts. They awaited fore each new meeting with interest, therefore, they believe that the work should be continued.
Youth clubs held informational meetings on the topic: norms of ethics and aesthetics, healthy lifestyle and sex education. The meetings were held in the village Ergeta (Zugdidi municipality), in Poti private school and in the village Teklati (Senaki municipality).
Young people made focus on many problems, including early marriages - this problem hinders the development of young people and the achievement of their independence.
According to the participants of the meetings, such frank conversations and competent advice help to solve problems, prevent conflicts and violence.
The first three meetings of June were held in the Youth Clubs of Nakhakhulevi Public Schools (Khoni Municipality), Gurianta (Ozurgeti Municipality) and in the Private School “Otsneba” in Tskaltubo. The topic of the meetings: standards of ethics and aesthetics, healthy lifestyle and sex education.
The participants became involved in the work as much as possible, they talked about the lack of information, the need for such training. There were discussions, opinions expressed, analysis. It was especially interesting to look at problems through the eyes of teenagers and feel their desire to solve problems, to find a way out and make life better...
The cycle of workshops in a private lyceum school of Senaki, in the school of the village Orulu (Zugdidi municipality) and school No. 1 in Poti was finished. According to the students, workshops on conflict management issues are very important and necessary for them. They emphasized that the information was presented in a light form, in an understandable language. The work was interesting and fun.
The workshops were also attended by teachers. They noted that NGOs contribute to raising students' healthy consciousness, informing and activating them. Workshops are proof of this and the best opportunity to learn how to manage conflicts from an early age.
