In frames of the project “Strengthening of medical staff for the protection of violence victims”, the Fund “Sukhumi” began active cooperation with medical staff.
A publication “The role of medical staff in violence prevention”, which will help medical workers to respond accordingly in case of violence against women / domestic violence was published in frames of the project.

In frames of the joint project of Senaki Municipality Gender Council and the Fund "Sukhumi" - "Cooperation with local government - for gender equality and prevention of domestic violence", a survey in 14 communities of Senaki Municipality was held with the aim of analyzing the situation regarding violence against women.
After that the “Situational analysis of the problem of violence against women / domestic violence in Senaki municipality” was published.

Over the years, Fund “Sukhumi” has been actively working with local authorities to introduce the principles of gender equality. Various documents, manuals and methodical guidance were developed and issued.
This time the draft Gender Equality Action Plan of the municipality has been developed. It is an example, a model based on which the Action Plan can be elaborated taking into account the needs of local groups.
The Action Plan for the implementation of gender policy will contribute to the fair distribution of budgetary resources, the full inclusion of women and men in local processes.
“Gender mainstreaming in municipalities – strategic guidance for local self-government – is the title of a new publication of Fund “Sukhumi”. It includes experts’ opinions and recommendations, collected from experiences of Georgia, including Abkhazia and Visegrad countries (Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia).
The guidance is a methodical manual which will held local self-governments in incorporation of gender oriented policy. It includes the list of issues that are important for gender mainstreaming at local level.
The publication was developed within the framework of the project "Learning from the experience of Visegrad 4 to advocate for equal, inclusive and democratic local governance".
One more important publication of the fund “Sukhumi” on actual issue: “Gender Mainstreaming in Local Self-Government”. It is a collection of the works of the experts from different countries, which aims at promoting gender policy in local government envisaging the experience of Visegrad countries and Georgia.
The researches were carried out in frames of the project “Learning from Visegrad 4 experience to advocate for equal, inclusive and democratic local governance”.
From May 2015 to February 2016 the fund “Sukhumi” together implemented a project: “Strengthening of women’s voices in the process of conflict transformation”.
The work was carried out with support of Federal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.
In frames of the project several activities were implemented. At the end of the project, there was printed a bulletin in Georgian and Russian Languages, which implied impressions and opinions of project participants.

The third publication of informational bulletin reflects results of WSC activities in March in frames of the project: “Strengthening of women’s rights in Western Georgia”, work with the violence victim, round table, informational-consultative meetings, cooperation with local self-government, advocacy and solution of the problem.
There were held 93 planned and more than 20 ordinary activities in frames of women solidarity week.
The work of women support centers of Kutaisi, Khoni, Poti, Senaki, Tskaltubo and Khurcha/Koki (Zugdidi municipality), collaboration with local self-government, advocacy and solution of the problem – these and other issues are publicized in the forth issue of informational bulletin of the fund “Sukhumi” in frames of the project “strengthening of women’s rights in Western Georgia”.
