In June, two important days are celebrated - International Children's Day and International Day of IDPs and Refugees.

The mobilizers of the Women Support Centers of the Fund "Sukhumi", devoted the meetings in cities and villages to these dates, with different beneficiaries. They talked about problems and outlined ways of their advocacy.

During the month, 33 mobilization meetings were held in the municipalities of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Senaki, Poti and Zugdidi.

In February, during the mobilization meetings there was discussion about a document of reform regarding IDP allowance, which is still in process of discussion.

The meetings were held in Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Senaki, Poti and Zugdidi.

According to IDPs, it is necessary to discuss the types of reform and define concrete steps. During discussions on actual issues, there were mentioned the needs of IDPs and suggestions, which were familiarized to representatives of the Ministry of IDPs and resettlement by the fund “Sukhumi” during the informational meetings in Kutaisi and Tbilisi.

Monthly mobilization meetings were held by mobilizers of the Women's Support Centers of the Fund "Sukhumi".

The subject of the meetings was advocacy and its methods. During the meetings the participants were also familiarized with the reports of the Monitoring Group of the Fund "Sukhumi".

After New Year days, mobilizers of the Women Support Centers conducted 33 mobilization meetings in towns and villages with the IDPs and local population.

The meetings discussed changes in law against violence, under which it is foreseen to raise the role of local self-government in terms of prevention of domestic violence.

In May the work of Women Support Centers was busy as usual. Mobilizers of WSCs of Kutaisi, Khoni, Poti, Senaki, Tskaltubo and Khurcha/Koki (Zugdidi municipality) are in close cooperation with the beneficiaries.

Topics of mobilization – informational meetings were – family, rights and duties of people, domestic conflicts and mediation, facts of violence in family, influence of violence on psycho-emotional condition of children.

During the meeting participants received information regarding the programs of local self-government and existing social packages.

Despite hot summer days, WSCs of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, khoni, Senaki, Poti, Khurcha/Koki (Zugdidi Municipality) continue informational-mobilization meetings with beneficiaries. In July, the topic of the meeting was protective and arresting order, as the mechanism of victim protection.

The meetings mainly were held in collective centers, villages also with local population. There were discussions and questions, which were answered by the mobilizers.

Mobilizers of the Women Support Centers conducted traditional monthly mobilization meetings in Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Poti, Senaki and villages of Zugdidi municipality – Koki and Khurcha.

As there is celebrated international day of rural women in October, the topic of the meetings was defined by this date. The meetings were devoted to women’s rights, their problems and ways of solution.

33 Mobilization meetings were held in six municipalities of western Georgia (Kutaisi, Poti, Khoni, Tskhaltubo, Senaki, Zugdidi). Particularly should be noted the meetings in villages where there is a lack of information.

The theme of the meetings was associated with the law against violence against women and changes into the law.

The meetings also discussed the municipal budget. Members of mobilization meetings were informed about the planned local social programs in 2017 budget and health care programs.

Memorandum of cooperation between the Supreme Council of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia and the Fund "Sukhumi" was signed on May 5.

The Memorandum defines conditions under which the parties will organize joint activities for the improvement of socio-economic status of women, full integration of IDPs in the local community, as well as support of democratic values ​​and achievement of gender equity.

By signing the Memorandum, the parties have identified the main directions of joint activities and their responsibilities.

   

The members of the Fund "Sukhumi" and Batumi Gender Advisory Council (GAC) met the members of the Council for Gender Equality of the Supreme Council of Adjarian Autonomous Republic. Representatives of Fund "Sukhumi" told about the activities of the organization in terms of gender perspectives, the projects that were implemented by the GAC with the help of the fund "Sukhumi" and the local government.

During the meeting there were named the results that speak about the effectiveness of the GAC work. Attention was paid to the research, work with the youth, action plan that the GAC will present to self-government as a recommendation document.

What is the strategy of Adjarian Supreme Council on the implementation of the gender policy, how importance is the cooperation with NGOs - Medea Vasadze - deputy chairman of the Council for Gender Equality spoke about it.

It was said that it would be useful to design a memorandum on joint activities. The meeting was by TV company "Adjara".
