This policy brief presents the findings of a quantitative research study conducted by The Women's Fund "Sukhumi" in 10 targeted municipalities from March to May 2024. The study, which included 1027 female respondents, assesses domestic violence, it’s manifestations and perceptions of the perpetrator. This document aims to evaluate the forms of domestic violence against women and to identify and analyze the associated dangers and risks. The study findings indicate that husbands are typically the domestic abusers, with psychological violence being the predominant form. In 2024, the rate of economic violence decreased compared to 2023. Additionally, while substance abuse was the main factor contributing to domestic violence in 2023, a challenging economic situation has become the primary cause in 2024. We should not ignore the notable rate of sexual violence, which has remained unchanged at 16% for the past two years.

A working meeting was held at the office of the Women Fund "Sukhumi", which was attended by the members of the initiative group - IDPs from various collective centers of Kutaisi.

Group members try to use the skills acquired during the training and are motivated to solve their problems. According to them, the project empowered each participant and convinced them of their own abilities. All this is a necessary condition for the successful implementation of the advocacy process.

The women noted: “The experience gained will help us to conduct successful advocacy with the relevant departments.”

“When I see a problem, I immediately begin to respond, prepare a letter, collect signatures and photographs, because I know that evidence will lead to success.”

“We have a letter with evidence, we will begin the advocacy process in a structured manner. Your support gives us more motivation. We hope you will help us when we face difficulties!”

Along with various courses (Georgian language, English, acting, photography and videography, polymer clay modeling, embroidery), impressive events are organized for Ukrainian, Russian and Belarusian children.

May 2, Day of Kutaisi - “Gviriloba” was celebrated with a master class on preparing “khachapuri” at the Hotel “Argo”. It was a real celebration of taste and skill, where everyone felt like a member of a large Georgian family.

Sensory games were organized for little participants. The culmination of the event was tasting “khachapuri” prepared by the participants.

On May 17, the children visited the TV “Rioni” and Radio. They looked behind the scenes of television work. They learned what stages a program goes through from idea to broadcast and what technologies are used. The children were especially impressed by the tour of the 105.5 FM radio station. They got acquainted with the work of radio presenters, how radio content is created, and how a live broadcast is created.

These were unforgettable days for the participants.
