Fund "Sukhumi"' has published its new monitoring Report   - „Impact of COVID-19 on Domestic Violence, Situation of Women Victims and the Access to the Support Services“. The Report reflects the major problems and challenges faced by women and girls living within Fund "Sukhumi""s eleven target municipalities in the context of COVID-19 pandemic. 

The results of the Monitoring have clearly proved that Pandemic has significantly aggravated women’s situations. It has not only worsen the already dire condition of women victims of domestic violence but also has revealed the potential abusers. The situation of women who had been able to escape from the abusers and leave the violent environment in the past, has been also considerably deteriorated due to COVID-19. 

The existing challenges require timely response and proactive actions by the government, especially in the regions, with active cooperation and involvement of the relevant civil society organizations. The report provides specific recommendations on appropriate response to mitigate the negative effects.

Report is published in two languages - Georgian and English.

Cases of violence have become more frequent In quarantine. The victims was left alone with the rapist ... Especially for them, for their assistance, the Fund “Sukhumi” developed an information leaflet, that provides information about the services, existing for victims of domestic violence.

Legal Service of the Fund “Sukhumi” published a brochure “STOP Violence!!!”

It presents frequently asked questions on the problem of violence against women / domestic violence, and gives answers / clarifications: what is domestic violence, what are the forms of violence, who is a victim, a rapist, etc.

The brochure shows the phone numbers of the mobilizers of 10 Women Support Centers of the Fund “Sukhumi”, as well as contact details by which the victim can call for help in case of violence.

Part of publications will be handed out during the campaign of 16 Active Days Against Gender-Based Violence.

In frames of the joint project of Senaki Municipality Gender Council and the Fund "Sukhumi" - "Cooperation with local government - for gender equality and prevention of domestic violence", a survey in 14 communities of Senaki Municipality was held with the aim of analyzing the situation regarding violence against women.

After that the “Situational analysis of the problem of violence against women / domestic violence in Senaki municipality” was published.

The report of the Fund "Sukhumi" - "Voice of Women" was published. The first part summarizes the successfully implemented three-year project "Strengthening of Women’s Rights in Women in Western Georgia". In the second part of the magazine, monthly internet publications are collected - an information bulletin in which topical issues discussed at various meetings of the fund “Sukhumi” and specific cases were discussed. In the activity of the Fund "Sukhumi" a special place is occupied by information and consulting activities. The bulletin is devoted to one of the causes of domestic conflicts - the differences between personal values and traditions.
