Results of the work of Kutaisi Gender Advisory Council (GAC) and two projects, which were implemented by co-financing of the Fund “Sukhumi” and local government – mainly in this direction a meeting with journalists was held in the Fund “Sukhumi”.
The meeting was attended by the GAC members and participants of the project “Camp of Teenagers – Gender Education for the Young Athletes”.
Journalists got interesting by the work done, future plans and received answers.
The GAC has good informational support from the side of all media sources of Kutaisi, what makes its work more resonant.

“Gender Education for the Young Athlets” – TV Story in “Rioni”
TV Company “Rioni” aired a story, which tells about week camp in Kobuleti with co-financing of the Fund “Sukhumi” and Kutaisi City Hall in frames of the project “Camp of Teenagers - Gender Education for the Young Athlets”.
In organization of the camp there were actively involved members of Kutaisi Gender Advisory Council, who also conducted work-shops on gender issues.
The story gives high evaluation to the project by the chairpersons of Kutaisi self-government, who travelled to camp and met the young people. The Mayor of the city and chairperson of Sakrebulo are grateful to GAC for assistance in formation of healthy values among the youth as they voluntarily contributed to the successful implementation of the project.
The project was mentioned also by members of GAC. According to them this is a good precedent, when state and NGO sector join their resources for physical and spiritual development of the youth.

Results of WSC work of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Senaki, Poti and Khurcha/Koki (Zugdidi Municipality) is reflected by informational bulletin, prepared in frames of the project “Strengthening of Women’s Rights in Western Georgia”.
In reporting period July 1 - 31, 87 activities were held with participation of 991 people, also mobilization meetings, workshops, consultations of psychologist and lawyer, youth clubs, focus-groups and in-depth interviews, monitoring groups, informational meetings, performances of the forum-theatre.

Work of Ozurgeti GAC in “Dzveli Kalaki”
Radio story tells about results of the work of Ozurgeti GAC, regarding the problems, which were revealed and how the GAC is going to answer the challenges, what projects are carried out and what are the concrete results of this work.
According to the members of GAC, it is necessary to conduct more informational activities.
The story tells that GAC project “Cancer is not a verdict” – aims at psycho rehabilitation of the people with this problem, but at the same time there is held advocacy of other issues. There is no oncologist in Ozurgeti, no local statistics of disease, there is no culture of prevention.
Members of the GAC mention that always feel support of local government, which expresses support in implementation of interesting ideas of the GAC even having poor budget.

Radio story in the air of “Dzveli Kalaki” – senaki GAC
What was revealed as a result of research, conducted by Senaki GAC and what is planned for advocacy of identified needs, how do the GAC members evaluate creation of network and what are their expectations on the background of coordination and cooperation, integrity of which issues are in the aims of future budget and what challenges rae noticed by the GAC members.
Opinions of Senaki GAC members regarding these issues were announced in the radio story of “Dzveli Kalaki”.
“the GACs always tried to exchange information, we are glad that the network will give more possibilities for this”, “in the previous year, part of our recommendations were envisaged by Sakrebulo. We have a hope that in this year it will be implemented with great success”, “GAC made more than it was expected. Gender is not so strange for the society. Now we have more experience and resources, so we will continue the work successfully”.
