- How the problem of violence in the media is covered, how information is provided to the society about the facts of violence, and how much it serves the prevention of violence - discussions were held on these issues with women's groups in Kutaisi, Senaki, Tskaltubo. Workshops were organized by Women Support Centers.

The participants noted that the media are mainly interested in such facts when the murder has already occurred, when nothing can be improved.

According to the participants, media is one of the serious tools in the prevention of violence, and this tool should be used more effectively.

Most television stations are politicized, and the topic of violence is not a priority for them.

- The mass media resource is not used in the prevention of violence. Journalists need special trainings to present truthful information to the society, - such opinions were expressed by young participants in the workshops in Poti, Khoni, Ganmukhuri (Zugdidi municipality).

They noted that in social networks, in the Internet space there are only negative information and it is necessary to spread positive examples that will reduce aggression in the society.

At the initiative of Khurcha / Koki Women Support Center (Zugdidi Municipality), a humanitarian action took place in the village - clothes, shoes and family belongings were handed out to socially unprotected and large families.

“With knowledge against violence” is the title of a small project implemented by the Women Support Centre in Tskhaltubo.

Information meetings in administrative units of Tskhaltubo Municipality and with representatives of local self-government on raising the role of self-government in prevention of violence against women and assistance to victims were carried out within the framework of the project. Participants of the meetings got information on the work of Fund “Sukhumi”, and specifically on the activities of the Women Support Centre. They were also given leaflets.

The final training for local government representatives was conducted on the 5th of December in the Assembly Hall of the Mayor’s office of Tskhaltubo. Participants of the training elaborated recommendations and proposals, which were realized in different villages. A short video about the training was prepared and transmitted on air of the TV company “Rioni”.
