Mobilization and informational – consultative meetings, youth clubs, workshops in conflict management, performances of the forum – theatre. Totally in May there were held 87 activities in Women Support Centers of Kutaisi, khoni, Poti, Senaki, tskaltubo and Khurche/Koki (Zugdidi municipality.)
In April-May 2016 together with Gender Advisory Councils of Kutaisi, Senaki and Ozurgeti, fund “Sukhumi” conducted a research of gender needs of local civil groups. The research revealed vivid needs of IDPs, socially unprotected people, single mothers and mothers of many children, women entrepreneurs, youth and representatives of ethnical minorities.
Suggestions, elaborated as a result of work with target groups by the specialists of the field and the experts, will be envisaged by the GACs, in order to submit package of recommendations to the local government. Experience of the previous years shows, that this process will promote to formation of local budget with gender parameters.
In May the work of Women Support Centers was busy as usual. Mobilizers of WSCs of Kutaisi, Khoni, Poti, Senaki, Tskaltubo and Khurcha/Koki (Zugdidi municipality) are in close cooperation with the beneficiaries.
Topics of mobilization – informational meetings were – family, rights and duties of people, domestic conflicts and mediation, facts of violence in family, influence of violence on psycho-emotional condition of children.
During the meeting participants received information regarding the programs of local self-government and existing social packages.
In Women Support Centers, there were held monthly legal consultations and informational meetings. The topics of the meetings were inheritance and testament, family conflicts, the rights and responsibilities of family members, the problems of domestic violence and protection mechanisms.
Individual consultations on the interests of participants in the meetings were held.
In addition, in May 12 meetings were held in collective centers of IDPs from Abkhazia. Group and individual consultations were held at the meeting.
12 group psychological meetings were held round Kutaisi in May, in compactly resided placed of IDPs with participation of 84 women. Also there were held individual consultations regarding a problem of family relations. The main issue ofteh conversation was model or form of family relations. Popular wisdom says: "Forewarned - is forearmed." The more we know about the family relationship, the less mistakes we make in life. Consultations had this exact goal.
