Women Support Centers (530)
Women Support Center these are the branches of the Fund “Sukhumi” in Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Terjola, Senaki, Poti, Khurcha / Koki (Zugdidi Municipality), Lanchkhuti, Ozurgeti, created since 2009. The centers are designed to strengthen women, provide social, psychological, legal assistance to women - victims of violence and to crisis families in a difficult life situation. They promote to the protection of women's rights and ensure their socio-psychological rehabilitation.
Poti Women Support Center implements a small project that promotes to the popularization of a healthy lifestyle among young people. In frames of the project, meetings were held with the directors of schools No. 7 and No. 21, as well as with the management of the education resource center. In addition, an information meeting was held by pupils of school No 21. The topic of the meetings was : - Harmful habits and the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
The Khurcha / Koki Women's Support Center (Zugdidi Municipality) has been successfully implementing a small project "Say No to Violence - Be Active!" since February. Information meetings were held with the authorized representatives of the villages of Zugdidi Municipality. In March, workshops were held for women in two villages - Akhalkakhati and Orsantia. During the workshops there were discussed the issues regarding violence against women and existing legal mechanisms.
The Women Support Center of Tskaltubo, in partnership with the Gender Equality Council of the municipality, is implementing a project aimed at creating a harmonious environment for children. The first training was conducted for representatives of the association of kindergartens, managers and educators. Participants received important information about gender issues in terms of working with pupils of pre-school institutions. Three more trainings are planned in frames of the project.
The beneficiary of the Poti Women Support Center addressed for help. The family is socially unprotected, lives in the IDP village. The father has problems with backbone after the car accident, and he can not move independently.
The Fund "Sukhumi” addressed the organization "Caritas Georgia" for support. The organization is compassionate about people's problems. It happened so this time - the family received food and clothes.

In February, legal consultations were held with IDPs in Kutaisi. In 54 collective centers, 54 beneficiaries were present at the meetings. Two individual consultations were given and beneficiaries of the at-risk group were identified. Also, two crisis families and one married couple were consulted.

Consultative meetings with the psychologist were held in 9 collective centers of IDPs in Kutaisi. 54 beneficiaries participated in them. As usual, individual consultations were held after group meetings. 5 women received advice on specific problems. One married couple passed two sessions. With representatives of two families with crisis relationship, 4 sessions were held.
Telephone counseling is also practiced. The psychologist answered 5 calls.
All this work contributes to helping families at risk and preventing violence, as envisaged in the project.

According to the new project "Strengthening of Women's Rights in Western Georgia", the fund "Sukhumi" has the Women Support Centers in 9 municipalities (Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Senaki, Terjola, Poti, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, Lanchkhuti).
In February, the mobilizers held 27 mobilization and information meetings in the towns and villages of these municipalities, in IDP settlements, with representatives of various spheres of society. The main focus was on the project, the planned activities and services of the Fund "Sukhumi". Special meetings were held in Terjola, Ozurgeti and Lanchkhuti, where the Women Support Centers were established this year.

As a result of the small grant competition of the Fund "Sukhumi", a project of Tskaltubo WSC "Raising the level of civic education of teachers, educators and parents of pupils of kindergartens in Tskaltubo" was financed.
Within the framework of the project, the mobilizer of the Women Support Center met with the chairman of Tskaltubo Sakrebulo - Grigory Ivaneishvili, with the secretary of the Gender Equality Council, the adviser to the chairman of Sakrebulo - Mzia Kikalishvili. Meeting was also held with representatives of the kindergarten association.
The project includes trainings for teachers and kindergarten educators on topical issues: gender, gender violence, bullying.

Since the new year, the format of the meetings of the psychologist of the Fund "Sukhumi" has changed. She no longer holds monthly group meetings in the Women Support Centers, and she comes to the regions in case of necessity.
In February, individual meetings were held at the request of Poti and Khurcha / Koki Women's Support Centers (Zugdidi Municipality). The work was carried out with women to resolve personal psychological problems. After the first session, the beneficiaries have already felt relief, agreed to work through skype and telephone counseling. Despite some positive results, individual work continues.

Promotion of healthy life style among young people - this actual topic is being implemented by the small project of Poti Women Support Center. In frames of the project, activities are planned in two schools of the city - to promote a healthy lifestyle.
Informational meetings with the Mayor's counselor on gender issues and the Department for Youth Affairs have already taken place.
