Forum-theater is an innovative method of work aimed at solving social problems through theatrical performances. The Youth Forum-Theater of the Fund "Sukhumi" has been working since 2009 and conducts performances on topical issues (conflicts, violence) in 4 regions of Western Georgia (Imereti, Samegrelo, Guria, Adjara).
Forum Theatre came to visit Senaki and held presentation at school №7 of Abkhazian Autonomous Republic. There were shown 6 scenes, including a new one – how the father forces a 16-year-old girl to marry. The scene provoked active discussion. Young people openly talked about some of the traditions that are abused. The audience noted the need to change stereotypical attitudes towards women and to abandon harmful traditional practices.
In Tskaltubo school No1 the forum-theatre conducted 6 performances. 83 viewers were in the hall – pupils, teachers. Positive emotions were expressed with the applause. With the request of the audience, the actors played the scene of mother and daughter for the second time. Active viewers were involved in the discussion and spoke about a problem, about ways out, about contribution of each person.
The second presentation of the forum theater was held in January in Kutaisi, in a private school, "the 21st century." Spectator watched with interest all the scenes and felt the main message - do not have to put up with violence!
Forum-theater of Fund "Sukhumi" became very popular with their ideas. That is why the young actors were invited to the TV programs On January 24 - company "Rioni". Young people spoke about the specifics of the forum-theater, the relevance of violence and that everyone should be able to manage conflict without violence developing, and make even the smallest for the prevention of violence.
In the village of Ivandidi (khoni Municipality) there were held performances of fund “Sukhumi” forum-theatre for the first time. There were shown 5 scenes on the topic of violence against women. Majority of the audience were the pupils. They watched the performance with interest. Active discussion was held. One of the viewer played in the scene of conflict between mother and daughter.
The first meeting in Ivandidi was productive. They emphasized the problem, and importance of inclusion of each person for violence prevention. The audience expressed a desire of further meetings.
In the campaign of 16 active days the forum-theatre of the fund “Sukhumi” was actively involved. Young actors conducted performances in the school No2 of Tskaltubo and No21 of Poti.
The participants played the scenes, they were active even during the discussion. Inclusion of the teachers was interesting. The participants told real histories, discussed the details of performances.
Forum-theatre of the fund “Sukhumi” showed 5 performances in Kutaisi, children’s village. During the active discussion the children spoke about their families. They were especially open when watching the scenes of domestic violence. it was not surprising that all of them protected the interests of women.
Children, living in a children's village with great interest were involved in the scene and tried to play, showing the protest to violence and the problem was solved.
This day was interesting also for the actors of forum-theater, and for small residentsof children's village.
Performances of the forum-theatre were held in schools of Koki (Zugdidi municipality) and Menji (Senaki municipality). There were held more than 10 scenes. The discussion was quite active, teachers also were involved. The young actors showed the relation of mother and daughter, that caused great interest and difference of opinions.
In Kutaisi so called “Park of love” there was held 6 performances of the forum-theatre, which caused interesting discussions. Among the audience there was an old woman, who shared her experience. The young people were also involved in the discussion.

The performances of the forum-theatre become more and more interesting for th society.
Youth forum-theatre conducted performances in the central park of Tskaltubo. Attendants refused to take a photo, but they were involved in the discussion and expressed their position. After the performance they got interested in the origin of such scenes and actively spoke with the actors. It was noted that the scenes are real and presented in the original way.
