Representatives of the Association "Mercury" met with the Mayor and Vice Mayor of Zugdidi Municipality. They talked about the possibility and model of funding services for victims of domestic violence from local budget funds.
According to the Mayor of Zugdidi, after consultations with the relevant services, the details of the service will be agreed. Several interesting recommendations were discussed and the dialogue will continue.
The meeting was held with the aim to advocate the needs of victims of domestic violence - as part of the Women Peace Coalition Advocacy Campaign.

A youth space was established in Public School No 12 of Abkhazia (Zugdidi) and is already hosting informal meetings.
On December 15, young activists held a meeting with teenagers on the topic: Violence - Bullying. Participants actively participated in the discussion, discussed and made thematic posters.
Topics for future meetings were identified, activities were planned, including finding resources for material and technical equipment of the youth space.

100 participants and broad geography of meetings: Bagdati, Vani, Chokhatauri, Terjola, Tkibuli.
In the first half of December, trainings were held with the youth of these five municipalities on the topic: Conflict resolution, the Problem of tolerance in Adolescents.
Participants talked openly about problems, gave examples, discussed ways to solve them.
Teachers were actively involved in the trainings and then helped the adults to prepare various activities. These groups conducted 35 initiated events and all of them were dedicated to the international campaign "16 Active Days Against Violence Towards the Women".

One more final day - The cutting courses were finished in the day center of the Fund "Sukhumi". During the project implementation, the participants have mastered the technique of sewingand studied all the necessary nuances. Their work was presented at summarizing lesson. Their work was highly appreciated.
According to participants, the project helped them to become more motivated. They expressed desire to start a small business in the future, which will significantly improve their lives.

Vani and Samtredia Women Support Centers actively involved self-government representatives in the campaign against violence.
Young people in distributed information flyers Samtredia Municipality. With the support of Vani Women Support Center, the students prepared a video appeal and a rally was held.
Through these activities, the Women Support Centers were able to involve a wide range of governments, schools, youth and the community, helping to create a non-violent environment in the community.

"Circle of Violence" - the discussion of this film was held against the background of a special discussion. The meeting was also attended by members of the Gender Council. Participants highlighted the negative impact that the circle of violence creates.
The second initiated activity was held in the school of the village Paluri. The topic of the information meeting was: the first women human rights defenders in Georgia. Participants heard information about how women defended their rights in the past. According to the participants, the 16-day campaign helps to create anti-violence mood in the community.
Tsalenjikha Women Support Center was so actively involved in the campaign.

Senaki Women Support Center joined the campaign against violence with three initiated activities.
During the meeting with the Gender Equality Council, the participants focused on the urgency and priority of the problem.
As part of the campaign, Senaki Youth Palace, Youth and Art Center were also involved. The young people held a rally, performed with elements of forum-theater, exhibited thematic paintings and distributed information flyers.
At the initiative of the Women Support Center, an information meeting was also held with the students of the Public School No 2, the participants talked about the preventive measures against the problem of violence.

Information meetings, an exhibition of drawings, preparation of information leaflets and banners, screenings of films, actions, preparation of video clips - the involvement of young people in the campaign “16 active days against violence towards the women” was so productive.
7 youth initiative groups were involved in the campaign. They are actively working in the municipalities of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Senaki, Zugdidi and Tsalenjikha. The groups organized 23 interesting and creative activities, and thus strengthened the protest of the Fund "Sukhumi" against violence.
