The stigma of those infected with Covid-19 is a new form of violence. Such people are next to us, and many of them are forced to live in difficult conditions.
The Tbilisi representation of the Fund "Sukhumi" prepared a video clip regarding this problem (within the framework of the campaign "16 active days against violence towards the women").
In the video clip presents the monologues of women who have defeated the virus, and their calls: “Let's get rid of stigma! Let's show compassion and support!
In frames of the 16-day global campaign, the Tbilisi representative office of the Fund "Sukhumi" prepared a video clip, which reflects the attitude of society to the problem of violence against women. The real story, of a victim of violence, taken from the publication/monitoring report of the Fund "Sukhumi" - „Impact of COVID-19 on Domestic Violence, Situation of Women Victims and the Access to the Support Services“ was announced here.
According to the respondents, a woman has the right to live without violence and be happy.
The press-briefing was held on November 25 – on the first day of the 16-day campaign. Journalists from different municipalities participated in it. They got acquainted with the 20-year experience of the Fund "Sukhumi" in the campaign, the activities carried out, the publications related to issues of violence against women / domestic violence... The media representatives expressed interest and noted that they will actively involve in the campaign.
Fund "Sukhumi" decided to study public opinion regarding the concept of "peace". The work began on December 14, and the video collage was recorded in a week.
59 respondents were chosen - people of different ages and professions. Everyone was asked one question: What is peace?
The answers are different, but their essence is similar to each other: peace is condition when there is no war. Peace is a safe environment, it is love, friendship, harmony...
In short, there were many interesting answers. Each record was separately posted on the Facebook page, and at the end a social clip was made.
The main thing is that peace is a rather actual issue for the people...
The action was held in frames of the activities of the Coalition "Woman and peace". The Coalition included 10 women NGOs from 4 regions of Western Georgia (Imereti, Samegrelo, Guria, Ajaria).
September 21 is the International Day of Peace. The Fund "Sukhumi" annually joins the international campaign in honor of this date. Women Support Centers and Youth Clubs conducted peace lessons and actions in nine municipalities of Western Georgia: Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Terjola, Lanchkhuti, Ozurgeti, Senaki, Poti and Zugdidi.
And on our page a very impressionable photo report with peacekeeping appeals: "Peace to all!", "Peace in the house - peace in the world!", "We want peace!".
