In frames of the project "Early Conflict Prevention, Theory and Practice", the women initiative groups of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo and Khurcha (Zugdidi Municipality) started activities in their communities.
The first meeting was held with the group of Khurcha. The members of the group worked on identifying the problem and highlighted the actual one for their community.
- For whom is this problem important, in whose interests is its decision, who are the supporters and opponents, who influences it, the initiative group worked on the methods that were studied during the special training.
An analysis of the problem will enable participants to effectively work on the early prevention of conflict.
The Fund "Sukhumi" organized a three-day training on: "Analysis of conflict and crisis situations envisaging gender aspects". The training was held in Kobuleti.
The training was attended by members of Women's Initiative Groups of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khurcha-Koki (Zugdidi Municipality).
The three-day program included the following issues: the concept of conflict, sources, gender differentiation, conflict analysis and its methods, strategic approaches and mechanisms for conflict resolution at an early stage.
The program was full of practical, role-game exercises. With the help of the received information and skills, Women's initiative groups can effectively work in specific communities for the early prevention of conflict situations.
In frames of the project: “Early Prevention of the Conflict - Theory and Practice”, 200 beneficiaries were interviewed in Kutaisi, Tskaltubo and Khurcha-Koki (Zugdidi Municipality). It turns out that the data obtained in three municipalities are different. Accordingly, the reasons of conflict differ from each other. As a result of the questionnaire analysis, it will be possible to solve concrete crisis situations.
- What was the reason of conflict? Who are the interested parties? In whose interests is the solution of the problem? What are the resources and alternatives for their solution? - using these methods, conflict situations were analyzed, identification of which was held through a questionnaire.
In April, three situations on conflict sensitivity were analyzed. It turned out that the causes of the conflict are very difficult. But there is always a way out, which can reduce the risk of its development.
Conflict situations are different: illegal agreements on the harvest of nuts or feijoa, cattle, which creates a danger for street residents, illegal buildings etc.
These information will help Women initiative groups, to use alternative versions of conflict resolution, identified during the analysis of specific situations in practice.
In order to identify conflict and crisis situations, women's initiative groups conducted questionnaires in Kutaisi, Tskaltubo and in the villages of Zugdidi municipality: Khurcha and Koki. Totally 90 women were surveyed from 18 to 68 years old. Questionnaire showed that that in these communities social conflicts caused by the unorganized infrastructure are especially actual.
The reasons of conflict are following: decrease of social status, controversial contracts, oral proposals.
As for the question, how do they react during the conflict in the communities? the answers showed that they often look for a way out, or address lawyers, non-governmental organizations, journalists.
As a result of the questionnaire analysis, 5 problems were identified. Members of the Women's Initiative Group will be included in the process to prevent conflict.

The obtained data identified conflict situations. Out of the identified problems, three crisis situations were chosen, and an analysis of conflict sensitivity was made.
Analysis of the conflict gives an opportunity to identify the object of the conflict, the opposing sides, their interests, the factors of conflict development and, on the basis of reality, the alternative versions of the solution of problems.
Analysis of conflict situations will give the women's initiative groups of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo and Zugdidi an opportunity to draw up an advocacy plan and effectively work on the early prevention of the conflict.
Women initiative groups are actively working to advocate problems. At the initiative of this group in Kutaisi, on Gugunava Street, the City Hall allocated a trash can - before that there was a landfill in this sector that threatened the health of the population. In Tskaltubo, the initiative group worked on a question that concerned the allocation of funds for the funeral of the deceased person, who had no relatives and friends.
In Khoni on the Freedom Square, the facades of a multi-storey building were repaired. The initiative group was actively involved in this process. Several letters were sent to the relevant services, meetings were held on the solution of the problems.
