Twenty-fourth meeting of Senaki Gender Advisory Councils began with submitting of interesting initiatives by the members of Youth Sakrebulo. GAC discussed possibility of developing and co-financing of the youth project, which will allow  the active youth to independently implement their initiatives with the help of small grants. From their side representatives of youth Sakrebulo expressed readiness to involve the GAC in the projects.

There was also held detailed discussion of the project for strengthening the role of youth and women in the process of prevention of domestic violence and advocacy of social problems in the villages of Senaki Municipality. Members of the GAC have ahope that local self-government and fund “SUkhumi” will support their project.

The first meeting in 2016 of Senaki Gender Advisory Council was held in January 22. The members of the GAC discussed the Action Plan for 2016-2017 years for combating violence against women and domestic violence victims protection. In particular, those points of the plan, which relate directly to local authorities, and proposed to make certain amendments.

They also actively discussed the new project ideas, with greater emphasis on the villages of Senaki municipality. Already in February, the trainings are planned for representatives of Gamgebeli in villages and rural deputies on the topic of gender and gender-based violence.

Information about current project, familiarization with research results, discussion of the new project – GAC of Kutaisi held ordinary meeting regarding these issues.

In frames of GAC project there was held a cycle of workshops with the students. What was shown: what is informing level of students on gender issues, what are their needs and what kind of recommendations do they suggest – these issues were evaluated by the students, who facilitated the workshops.

GAC members heard information about the results of gender research, conducted with different target groups. Discussion of recommendation will be continued at the following meeting and will be finished by creation of gender policy document.

At the end of meeting the participants discussed working variant of the new project, the aim of which is – creation of scenery for the puppet theatre on the issue of gender.

Kutaisi Gender Advisory Council (GAC) presented working variant of the project during the ordinary meeting. The project must be implemented through co-financing of the local self-government. The meeting was attended by the people, who were directly connected with future activists of the project: representatives of the fund “Sukhumi”, lecturers of the university.

During the work there were fixed different opinions regarding the phases of the target groups and thematic of the project. Then the initiative group was made in composition of 6 people, who will continue working at a project.

In the second part of the meeting members of the GAC elaborated ideas for formation of new project.

On September 5, a council of advisers was held in Khoni Sakrebulo.

Participants of the meeting listened to information on current social projects, on the local organization of social services, on the Women's Support Center of the fund “Sukhumi”. And also got acquainted with the results of monitoring of social budget implemented by the gender marker.

The members of the Council expressed the hope that the document of the priorities of 2018 will reflect the issues envisaged in the strategy and action plan for social inclusion - in this way the local authority undertakes to continue the services introduced by project supported by the organization PIN.

In Khoni Sakrebulo during ordinary meeting of the advisors’ council there was discussed working variant of the document for social inclusion strategy. The council members once again stopped on strategic goals and aims of social policy of the municipality regarding existing challenges, in order not to be left without attention the needs of the most vulnerable groups of citizens.

Once again was mentioned the need of social care policy regarding the persons with disabilities, creation of positive social area for the elderly, also important issues for the IDPs. (opening of ambulance in the village, listing of toddlers in the kindergartens. )

The Khoni Sakrebulo held a regular meeting of the Council of Advisers. The theme of the meeting - discussion of strategy of social inclusion of and distribution if the issues for the work on the document, where Fund "Sukhumi" is included.

The Council once again discussed the strategic plans and objectives that will contribute to the improvement of social services in the municipality. We highlight the needs of vulnerable groups and the question of resources required for their solutions.

Large format 23-rd meeting of GAC was held in Senaki. The first part was devoted to the presentation of the research of the fund “Sukhumi” “Evaluation of women human security level in Western Georgia”. Together with the council members, the meeting was attended by the chairperson of Sakrebulo and his deputy, representatives of social service and health care, teachers and directors of schools and kindergartens. There was held an active discussion of security issues, revealed in the process of research in the context of Senaki Municipality.

The second part of the research was participated by the GAC members, who detail discussed a new project, directed to the work in 14 territorial units of the municipality regarding the issues of gender and gender violence attracting representatives of Gamgeoba, majoritarian candidates, teachers, school directors and active youth. The GAC members have a hope of support from the side of local self-government and fund “Sukhumi” in realization of the project.
