TV Company “Adjara” – problem of domestic violence

The story in TV Company “Adjara” concerns the problem of domestic violence and the ways of solution. The programs shares opinions of law protectors and members of Batumi GAC.
As the story tells, Batumi GAC works for year and a half and pays great attention to the problem of domestic violence.
How alarming is the statistic, how the council tries to show actuality of the problem through cooperation with state structures and public sector, relevant reaction, victim protection – these are the issues, which are main in discussion with council members, City Hall representatives and gender advisors of Sakrebulo.

“Cancer is not a verdict” – TV story in “Guria”

“Cancer is not a verdict” – Ozurgeti Gender Advisory Council implements project under this title, which envisages psycho-social rehabilitation of the sick people.
Story of “Guria” tells about concrete activities for the beneficiaries. The head of the project claims: “There are 50 persons involved in the project and its main message is that we live ordinary life and continue fighting”.
The project covers villages of Ozurgeti municipality and it was financed by Ozurgeti local budget.

Meeting in Kutaisi gender media center

Kutaisi gender media center was opened in November of last year in the office of radio "Dzveli kalaki" and became a place of interesting meetings.
On April 16 is here was held a traditional meeting with journalists who are actively collaborating with the Fund "Sukhumi".
The participants were informed about the work of the Gender Advisory Councils of Senaki, Ozurgeti and Kutaisi. Their were especially interested in "Kutaisi" news, mainly the fact that the City Hall together with the Fund "Sukhumi" has funded a five-month project "Gender education in preschool." This is the first gender project of the City Hall.
The meeting was attended by trainees of radio "Dzveli kalaki" who had a desire to work in the direction of gender.

Radio program in "Dzveli kalaki"

"Dzveli kalaki" aired a program prepared by radio journalist of the Fund "Sukhumi" about a work of Kutaisi Gender Advisory Council (GAC). GAC members talk about socially important issues initiated by Gender Council, on cooperation with the local government, as well as the planned and already implemented activities.
Story highlighted the importance of the research that laid the foundation for self-government and the recommendations of the project being undertaken in terms of the development of the GAC service in sphere of pre-school education and gender education of kindergarten staff.
In the story it is said that, the Law on Gender Equality exists for 5 years, which obliged the local government, to bring local legislation into line with the law, but it did not happen. Particularly important in this regard is introduction of gender budgeting practices, which, according to respondents, is one of the main directions of the GAC. There was expressed confidence that direction of gender in the budget for 2016 will be the more visible.

TV program in Ozurgeti "Guria TV"

TV program, past in the air of TV "Guria" covers various aspects of Ozurgeti Gender Advisory Council, a new perspective of the work with youth; identification of citizens needs and their advocacy and lobbying events; the most important thing - one of the visual results of the GAC: GAC member Nia Mekvabishvili was appointed as an assistant of the attorney (head of municipality administration) on gender issues. In future It will strengthen the capabilities of the GAC.
