“Access of women/victims of domestic violence to support services at the local level” - the topic of an online round table discussion organized by Women Fund “Sukhumi” on February 15 with the support of the Equality Fund, Canada.
The meeting was attended by local government representatives from the municipalities of of Senaki, Samtredia, Terjola, Kobuleti, Ozurgeti, Baghdati, Vani, Tskhaltubo, Tkibuli, Zugdidi, Khoni, and Chokhatauri, representatives of social services and children's rights protection departments, journalists from media organizations of Terjola, Kutaisi , Ozurgeti, Poti and Tkibuli, representatives of non-governmental organizations working on the topic, as well as mobilizers of the Women's Support Centers of the Fund “Sukhumi”.
During the first part of the event, representatives of Fund “Sukhumi” spoke about the project, and about the innovative and very necessary website - Digital Resource Center for Victims of Violence (http://gbvdigitalresourcecenter.ge/) created within the framework of the project, its promotion in municipalities, challenges and problems.
"Violence Prevention and Victim Protection" - a round table on this topic was held by the Women Fund "Sukhumi". The meeting was attended by the referral unities under the Law on Violence Against Women and Domestic Violence from Ozurgeti and Poti municipalities - representatives of the Criminal Police, Social Service Agency, Local Self-government, Educational and Medical institutions.
The lack of joint efforts and coordination at the local level was highlighted. The participants talked about the ways of violence prevention and victim assistance. As a result of group work, factors hindering and promoting coordination were identified. It was outlined how to improve coordination and intensify work with the involvement of local referral unities.

Findings and recommendations in the monitoring report of the Women's Fund "Sukhumi" - "Development of Child Care Services - to Promote Women's Employment and Ensure Effective Prevention and Response to Domestic Violence" were presented to the representative of the State Employment Promotion Agency - Ana Bendeliani by representatives of the Tbilisi office - Nino Korinteli and Linda Chikhladze.
At the meeting, both parties were allowed to share their experiences. Representatives of the Fund "Sukhumi" focused on the specific needs for the employment of vulnerable women, which are discussed in detail in our study, and also talked about the barriers that our beneficiaries face daily.

The format of the meetings is to provide information to the participants about the website "Digital Resource Center for Victims of Violence": what was the purpose of creating it, what materials are available, how to help vulnerable groups. Participants are also informed about the use of the Internet.
Such meetings are held regularly with groups of women. The next online information meetings were held with women living in Kobuleti, Bagdati, Zugdidi and Tkibuli municipalities.
The meetings were actively attended by the beneficiaries who used various services within the project. There was a great response to the campaign to help the beneficiaries with technical means. It was mentioned that they have hope that they are not alone and that they will be cared. The conversation also touched upon the rehabilitation center of the organization - the victims of violence pass psychological rehabilitation in the center, which is a serious assistance for them.

History and significance of the 16-day campaign, public support for the victims - Meetings on these issues were held with representatives of Tsalenjikha, Chokhatauri, Senaki and Samtredia municipalities online.
Participants also received information on the website of the “Digital Resource Center of the Services for Violence Victims”: how to find the information they need, what materials are available and how they will help the vulnerable groups. During the meetings, gratitude was expressed to the Women Fund "Sukhumi", because it works on current issues and actively helps women.

Information meetings, an exhibition of drawings, preparation of information leaflets and banners, screenings of films, actions, preparation of video clips - the involvement of young people in the campaign “16 active days against violence towards the women” was so productive.
7 youth initiative groups were involved in the campaign. They are actively working in the municipalities of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Senaki, Zugdidi and Tsalenjikha. The groups organized 23 interesting and creative activities, and thus strengthened the protest of the Fund "Sukhumi" against violence.

Within 16 active days against violence, the Women Fund "Sukhumi" carried out the second stage of the social action. Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Tsalenjikha, Terjola, Tkibuli, Kobuleti, Senaki, Vani - this is trip of only a week and the sincere gratitude of 10 women.

The round table discussions organized by the Women's Fund "Sukhumi" are over. The main goal was to develop municipal services for effective response to issues of gender-based violence - through cross-sectoral cooperation and coordination between the center, the region, and the municipalities.
At this time, the central level was represented by Maka Peradze, Head of the Human Rights Secretariat of the Government of Georgia, and Tamar Tariashvili, Member of the Permanent Parliamentary Council for Gender Equality. Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Regional Administration was represented by Nana Kakachia, a responsible person for gender issues.
The main part of the meeting was dedicated to the representatives of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti Municipalities, who shared information on the existing achievements and challenges.

The round table discussions organized by the Women Fund "Sukhumi" continue. This time the meeting was held with participation of the administration of Guria-Adjara State Attorney and local self-government officials. The central government was represented by the Deputy Head of the Human Rights Secretariat of the Government of Georgia - Eliso Shonia.
The participants of the meeting received the information about the experience of the Fund "Sukhumi" in the implementation of gender-oriented policy in local self-government - an expert in cooperation with local self-government - Ema Kamkia was the speaker. She focused on key achievements, challenges that still exist, and possible ways to respond to them.
Researcher - Nino Korinteli presented the findings and recommendations reflected in new monitoring report of the Fund "Sukhumi" - "Development of Child Care Services - to Promote Women's Employment and Ensure Effective Prevention and Response to Domestic Violence”.
