Young Leaders' School (202)
Young Leaders’ School is working with young people to strengthen them and to form leadership skills. The work is carried out in 9 municipalities of Western Georgia - Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Terjla, Senaki, Poti, Khurcha / Koki (Zugdidi municipality), Lanchkhuti, Ozurgeti. These are information meetings about gender and domestic violence, workshops on conflictology for young people, meetings with boys, formation of a group of young trainers, trainings and various meetings with participation of young people.
Equality and violence. The connection between them. What is the background of violence? What is the significance of preventive mechanisms? Discussions took place at information meetings of the youth clubs in Nakhakhulevi (municipality of Khoni), Gvankiti (municipality of Terjola), Tskhunkuri (municipality of Tskaltubo), Orsantia (municipality of Zugdidi), Lesa (municipality of Lanchkhuti), Kutaisi. The students expressed high interest. It turned out that the civil club "Nergebi" (seedlings) of the school in the village Gvankiti is very active in this respect - its members have prepared a video about bullying and took second place in the contest.
Most of the meetings with the boys in Poti, Tskaltubo, Terjola were devoted to determine the role of men in the family and society. Participants mentioned that the men are good protectors and partners. They played different roles that concerned conflict situations and their solutions.
Workshops on conflictology with participation of youth took place in Khoni, Zugdidi and Poti. During the meetings, participants noted that communication is an important an instrument during the conflict. Effective communication promotes to improvement of relationship, keeps connections. Therefore, information on these issues is necessary for people of all ages.
"If we know the rules of communication, we can stop the development of conflicts," mention the participants of the workshops.
Defining the role of men in the family and society - this topic was discussed during the regular meetings with boys in the schools of Khoni, Ozurgeti, Zugdidi. The topic turned out to be interesting for the participants, and they listened with particular interest. This was well shown in role games, in which all of them were involved. With the help of these games, the boys clearly saw the problems of violence and, of course talked about its prevention.
How important is communication in conflict management, how we communicate, how information is distorted, workshops on these issues were held with boys in Lanchkhuti, Senaki and Ozurgeti.
Participants emphasized the non-verbal aspect, which is especially important in communication. Young people believe that majority of conflicts start because of incorrect communication. Therefore, they pay special attention to information on these issues.
The participants of the workshops noted that effective communication is achieved through education, information, and they are ready, to use the received skills in practice.
Most part of the meeting were devoted to the conversation about the role of men. Participants noted that men are good defenders and partners. They played role-games, which concerned conflict situations. Some were rapists, while others resolved conflicts. Participants showed interest to the issue and received answers to their questions.
The first meetings with the boys this month were held in the schools of Kutaisi, Lanchkhuti, Senaki.
Regular meetings with the boys were held in Poti, Khoni and Lanchkhuti. The topic of the meetings was gender equality. The participants discussed gender roles, the attitude of men towards equality issues. Participants actively worked in groups, expressed their thoughts, argued. In their opinion, the main thing in achieving equality is to respect the rights of others.
As in the previous months, 9 information meetings took place in March for Youth clubs. The last three meetings were held in the public schools of Poti, Khoni, village Lesa (Lanchkhuti Municipality).
Women's solidarity, the history of March 8, women's rights, prevention of violence - the topics discussed aroused a lot of questions. Young people actively joined the discussions, gave examples and noted that such meetings are necessary for the older generation, so that they do not have a stereotyped attitude to gender issues.

Ordinary meetings were held with the boys in the municipalities of Terjola, Zugdidi and Senaki. Thee were discussed the issues related to gender equliaty. Participants expressed particular activity. They were involved in the group work, expressed their opinions regarding solution of gender problems.
