Meeting of Batumi Club of Voter Women

 

  

Members of Batumi Club of Voter women gathered according ordinary schedule. Advocacy group presented short overview of conducted work, also recorded new questions, which were put by the women.

Chairperson of local self-government mentioned, that these issues should be reacted and thanked them for civil activism and participation in local social policy.

Club members also defined the issues for advocacy for the central structures, mainly – the ministry of Labor, Health and Social Care.

Feedback revealed vision of the members of the club regarding future activities.

Topic of women solidarity on the youth clubs

  

March is considered to be the month of women, so the main topic during the informational meetings of the youth clubs was women solidarity in violence prevention.

During informational meeting in Khoni School No4, the participants heard information about the fund “”Sukhumi” and discussed the issue of women solidarity.

In schools No7 of Poti and village Koki, the participants expresses great interest towards the topic and were involved in the discussion.

In School No1 of Tskaltubo, the girls were very active. In school No4 of Senaki, the boys were especially active, who openly spoke that the women deserve ho have celebrations every day.

"Where are you, my Suliko?" - So-called documentary film of Lia Jakeli tells about Varenka Tsereteli, the author of popular song to the words of Akaki Tsereteli "Suliko".

A film is about the forgotten woman and was filmed 10 years ago and even today it does not lose relevance.

The screening of the film in the Kutaisi Center for Democratic Engagement was attended by 8 members of the Youth Club of the fund "Sukhumi”. They also took part in the debate, which took was active and interesting.

Guest at the meeting of the Club of Women-Voters of Kutaisi

  

 

On February 15 there was held a meeting of the Club of Women-Voters of Kutaisi. It was attended by activists of the club and the new members. And also there was invited a Deputy of Social Services of the City Hall Mamuka Sanikidze. He introduced the attendants to social programs of the 2016 budget and explained the terms of use. It was said that there is a new program this year for the people with problems of hearing. Also, a program that envisages creation of housing fund – of a temporary residence.

Club members noted that they will spread the information to a lot of people know about specific programs.

Several women asked for help in dealing with personal problems. Guest wrote and promised to help.

With the aim of advocating local issues 7 members of the club are invited to a meeting of the Gender Advisory Council, which will discuss the issue of urban transport.

Round table in Poti

 

In frames of women solidarity week, a round table was organized on the initiative of Poti WSCs.

The meeting was attended by IDPs, residing in collective centers. The round table was attended by the representatives of City Hall of Poti and Maltakva territorial unit.

During the round table the IDPs were given possibility to familiarize with social and health programs and also with activities, planned for the youth. They could fix their problems before the representatives of local self-government – this is the guarantee of collaboration and problem solution.

Young people discuss the topic of tolerance

 

Informational meetings of theyouth clubs were held in public school of the village Koki (Zugdidi Municipality), in WSCs of Khoni and Kutaisi, in school No6.

There were interesting live examples about people of other religion and nationality, there was conversation about religion, mixed families.

Some more aggressive young people analyzed the problem from another side...These discussions contribute to the formation of modern, free, tolerant youth who will change society for the better.
