Two civil society organizations begin active project work in Terjola municipality.
The Union for the Protection of Children's Rights and Civic Education "Children - the Future of Georgia" is implementing the project "Citizens Budget - the Way to Democracy". The goal of the project is to give people information on how public administration reform will affect their lives and how important their inclusion in civil budgeting is.
The organization “Women for the Future of Georgia” is working on the project “The Way to Changes”. After its completion, it will become clear how effective one of the municipal programs is. The project will help to meet the specific needs of the beneficiaries.

The videos with participation of representatives of local self-government from Tsalenjikha, Poti, Ozurgeti and Tskaltubo municipalities (there were 5 municipalities in the last months) were posted on the Facebook page of the Fund “Sukhumi”
They reflect the activities and strategies of the municipalities in response to the problems identified as a result of the research of the Fund “Sukhumi” against the background of the needs that arose due to the COVID-19.
Civil society organizations will implement two projects In Ambrolauri Municipality this summer.
“Self-government Resource Center Government of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti” - the project of this organization is “Involvement of citizens living in Ambrolauri in the implementation of public administration reform”. The goal of this project is to include citizens in the process of planning the municipality policy and in decision making.
The organization “Regional hub of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - Abkhazinterkont” implements the project “Accountable and transparent self-governance - informed population”. As a result of the project, electronic services of self-government will work efficiently, and the community will have the opportunity to provide their initiatives to local self-government.

Ozurgeti civil society organizations began to implement small projects.
The Center for Education and Equality will work for four months in frames of the project “Be informed - and be strong” in two villages (Nagomari, Chanieti) and three communities (Nasakirali, Laituri, Ureki) of the municipality. The project serves to inform the public about the importance of their participation in the implementation of public administration reform.
The Union of Young Teachers implements the project "What is public administration." The three-month project will try to increase the inclusion of society in local governance - young people will take training courses, they will have interest and motivation, and this will lead to the inclusion of other people in the process.

Representatives of various structures of the City Hall and Sakrebulo, members of the Gender Equality Council attended the informational meeting in Ambrolauri Municipality. Participants of the meeting spoke about the experience of the Fund “Sukhumi” and the inclusion of local self-government in the process of domestic violence prevention / violence against women and victims assistance. The conversation also touched the training planned by the Fund “Sukhumi” with the medical staff of the municipality.
During the meeting, it was noted that cooperation between the municipality and a non-governmental organization will be the guarantor of important changes.
The Fund “Sukhumi” organized an informational meeting in Lentekhi Municipality, which was attended by representatives of various structures of the City Hall and Sakrebulo, members of the Gender Equality Council.
The meeting participants exchanged information: how the local budget responds to gender parameters, how prior are the issues of violence prevention and victim assistance to the authorities, what the challenges are and what is planned in this direction.
Participants received information about the research of the Fund “Sukhumi” on the role of local self-government in terms of violence prevention and victims’ assistance.
As it was noted at the meeting, such cooperation between the non-governmental sector and government agencies will contribute to the implementation of new initiatives.
The date of elections in Georgia is not specified yet, but the Fund “Sukhumi” is actively working in the framework of the project “Online Vote-O-Meter for 2020 Georgian Parliamentary Elections”.
The aim of the project is to create an online system - to inform voters. The project team at actively discusses all relevant issues during online meetings.
There are calls on all Internet platforms of the Fund “Sukhumi” so that citizens can fix their questions to political parties. At this point, questions are recorded. Also, the work on an informational video clip is in the active phase.
Two local civil society organizations in Tsageri Municipality are working on interesting projects.
“Active Citizen – Accountable Government” - the project of this organization is “Improving the Competence of Employees of Tsageri Municipality for the Effective Implementation of Public Administration Reform”. The importance of the project is visible in its title. It will contribute to improving the level of effectiveness, transparency and inclusiveness of local self-government.
The project of Tsageri Center for Women's Rights and Equality is called “More Informing, More Inclusion.” It will familiarize the population with the services that exist in Tsageri municipality, how a citizen should use these services, etc. As a result of the project, the efficiency of services will increase.

Informational meetings with medical staff of the municipalities of Lentekhi, Tsageri and Ambrolauri were held on: “Domestic violence / violence against women - the role of doctors in violence prevention and victims’ assistance”. The participants received information about the training for the medical staff of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti in the framework of the project.
An informational meeting was also held with the Mayor of Lentekhi municipality Badri Liparteliani. The conversation touched the project activities. There was a desire for cooperation from the side of local self-government.
An informational meeting was held with members of the Gender Equality Council in Sakrebulo of Tsageri Municipality. The topics of the meeting were: role, practice and challenges in terms of combating domestic violence. However, the conversation touched gender equality policy in general.
Local government chairpersons welcome the prospect of closer cooperation with the Fund “Sukhumi”. They spoke about a work for the protection of the victims of domestic violence and prevention of violence. Statistics are not high in the region, but the problem is often closed and its management is even more difficult - this was especially evident under the conditions of COVID-19.
