Mass - media. This category gives information about meetings with representatives of media, TV and Radio programs and articles prepared in frames of the projects of the Fund "Sukhumi".
The fund “Sukhumi” held a meeting with the journalists. Kutaisi media sources received information about 16 day campaign against violence and about planned activities. Radio and TV aired information regarding this event.
In the evening on the initiative of TV Company “Rioni” there was aired a discussion on the topic of campaign, which was attended by the member of Sakrebulo, psychologist, lawyer, representatives of the fund “Sukhumi”. There was announced the main message addressed to each member of society: “Feel Responsibility – Stop Violence”!
In the air of TV Company “Egrisi” there was aired a program, which summarized the work of Senaki GAC.
The first part of the program was devoted to conference, held by the GAC in Senaki. Special story was also prepared for this event.
In the second part there was a conversation about results of three-year activities, which showed necessity of gender approaches for development of municplaity.
At the end of the program, there was expressed a hope that GAC will continue the work, as new institutional mechanism.
Today, in the program "The main theme of portal "Guriis Moambe" hosted to chairman of Ozurgeti Gender Advisory Council (GAC) Lela Natsvaladze and deputy Lali Sichinava. They evaluated the results of three years of work.
Guests of the program stressed the importance of the projects, which in recent years have caused increasing awareness of society on gender issues and the growing interest.
Leaders of GAC named their visit card - a project "Cancer is not a death sentence."
There was a talk about the close cooperation between the regions and the role of local authorities in the implementation of various projects. As Lela Natsvaladze noted, on the account of the GAC there are 9 implemented projects. In the future, work will continue in that direction, what needs will be identified in cooperation with the community.
Summarizing the results of collaboration with Gender Advisory Councils, preparation of materials for final journal of the fund “Sukhumi”, preparation for regional conferences – these topics were discussed during the meetings with journalists in Senaki, Ozurgeti, Kutaisi.
These were the last meetings in frames of the project with the slogan – media should continue work on gender issues, gender stresses should be made, social problems should be raised.
Journalists showed special activity at conferences, held in Kutaisi, Senaki and Ozurgeti, where all leading media sources were presented.
In the reports made by journalists, there were revealed aspect of cooperation and prospects for the future.
With co-financing of Kutaisi City Hall and fund “Sukhumi” there were carried out 4 projects of Gender Advisory Council. One of them “Strengthening of gender aspects in formation of local policy”. In frames of this project there was issued a magazine, which publicizes this work.
How can be evaluated the project, as a result of which everyone mentions serious promotion of establishment of gender policy, what are the achievements of Gender Advisory Councils, established three years ago by the fund “Sukhumi” and what are their prospects in future.
In the air of TV Company “Rioni” the staff of fund “Sukhumi”, representatives of Kutaisi Sakrebulo and City Hall spoke about concrete results: understanding the needs of local social groups, the creation of a gender budget program parameters. It has been said that the sign of a successful completion of the project - implementation of gender councils at the legislative level. It is necessary to keep the charge, which appeared with the cooperation of self - government with different social groups and became the key to solving many of the issues.
On July 7, in the air of TV “Rioni there was held a show, organized by the fund “Sukhumi”, devoted to the work fo Kutaisi Gender Advisory Council (GAC).
Network meeting, as opportunity of gaining experience of GACs of three cities, projects, implemented by Kutaisi GAC, vision of the youth on gender policy and their recommendations, gender needs, revealed as a result of the research, problems and suggestions to the local government – these and other issues were discussed in the studio by the staff of fund “Sukhumi”, members of the GAC and participants of the youth projects.
The story in the air of “Dzveli Kalaki” tells about network meeting of Gender Advisory Councils (GACs) of Kutaisi, Senaki and Ozurgeti. The meeting discussed results, achieved in frames of the project. It was mentioned that they have reached the main goal – it was implemented legislative change and legalization of gender councils at local level.
As the GAC members mention, in these three cities, there is a good background for establishing gender prospects and it will be an example for other municipalities. as for the GAC members, they are ready to share their experience with colleagues from other self-governments.
In the air of TV Company “Egrisi” there was aired a story regarding the project of Senaki Gender Advisory Council “Prevention of domestic violence in Senaki Municipality”. The story reflects the activities in frames of the project, organizational meeting with representatives of Governor of Senaki Municipality, training for thrainers on the issue of gender and domestic violence, informational meetings, conducted by the young people.
The radio “Dzveli Kalali” there was aired a story which told the audience about activity of Kutaisi GAC.
It was mentioned that the work of GAC is in the interesting phase: the research local civil groups needs was finished. There were revealed lots of interesting issues of different groups of women, youth, socially unprotected people, people with disabilities. The GAC has to envisage interests of these groups in the budget in cooperation with self-government.
The story aired information about youth project implemented by the GAC with financial support of the fund “Sukhumi” and Kutaisi City Hall. Project participants poke about the project activities and recommendations, prepared by the different youth groups.
