Mass - media. This category gives information about meetings with representatives of media, TV and Radio programs and articles prepared in frames of the projects of the Fund "Sukhumi".
On December 15, “gender news” of the radio “Freedom” touched current activities of Batumi Gender Advisory Council.
The interviews showed attitude of council members and the partners towards future activities. it was mentioned that besides advocacy of vulnerable groups needs and successful implementation of current projects, advocacy of legislative changes should be actively carried out on the local level. It will increase local self-government eligibility and competence to solve different gender challenges. There was raised the role of GAC network and necessity of collaboration with self-government to elaborate relevant recommendations with local authorities.
On December 14, studio of the TV “Guria” hosted the members of Ozurgeti GAC, who spoke about results of council activities and shared quite ambitious future plans to the audience.
As the guests of the show mentioned, they are too optimistic as they have a hope of support from the side of local government and also they actively look for the new resources for satisfying local gender needs. There were revealed most prior issues – protection from domestic violence and creation of social infrastructure for stable professional integration.

In Sunday's TV magazine "7 Days", it was widely illuminated participation of the Fund "Sukhumi" and its partners in the annual campaign against violence towards the women - how effective is the law of protection from violence; What is the statistics of violence; What are the mechanisms for the protection of the victim; What is the role of the NGO sector and what services are available for victims - speaking about these questions, respondents emphasized that in comparison to previous years amount of statements are increased, and victims of violence better defend their rights. It was decreased the number of people who stated that domestic violence problem is irrelevant, and first of all it is - a merit of broad public campaigns.

The Radio “Dzveli kalaki” aired a program, organized by the fund “Sukhumi”, where the members of Kutaisi GAC (representatives of the fund “Sukhumi”, Kutaisi Sakrebulo, local NGOs) talked about participation of Kutaisi GAC in formation of local gender policy. Mainly: where ids the beginning of suggestions and recommendations, what is the position of local government regarding them, which issue will be reflected in new budget.
The guests of the program touched participation in the campaign of 16 active days and defined necessary activities regarding protection of women from gender violence.

On November 25, is starting informational campaign “16 active days against violence towards the women”.
On November 25, the fund “Sukhumi” helds action in towns and villages of Western Georgia.
In Kutaisi the action will be held near the City Hall, at the Memorial of Labor.

It was decided:
- Representatives of Kutaisi City Hall will take part in the action and will prepare materials for the campaign.
- During the campaign the journalists will actively publicize the issues of prevention of domestic violence.

The 10-th issue of the informational bulletin was published. It summarizes the activities, conducted during the month in the project: “Strengthening of women’s rights in Western georgia”.
The issue tells about successful results and the work of Kutaisi, Khoni, Tskaltubo, Senaki, Poti and Khurcha/Koki (Zugdidi Municipality) Women Support Centers.
According to bulletin, there were held 82 activities in October. 995 people participated in them.

The program in radio “Rioni” – was summarizing the results of the project of the fund “Sukhumi” – “Changing of the Local Government policy Towards Gender Budgeting”. In the studio “Dialogue” there were invited: coordinator of the project, member of Kutaisi Gender Advisory Council, Methodist of the kindergartens and journalist of TV Company “Rioni”.
During the show there was held a conversation regarding activities in frames of the project, about the work in kindergartens, collaboration with local self-government and future prospects.
It was mentioned the positive impact of the project on its participants and gender policy of the city. There were revealed initiatives of Kutaisi GAC, which are prepared for submission in Sakrebulo and will be envisaged in 2016 budget.

On October 21, TV Company “Rioni” aired a show, which familiarized the audience with the activities of Kutaisi Gender Advisory Council for integrity of gender components in 2016 budget.
The stories, prepared for the program revealed constructive attitude of Kutaisi Sakrebulo and City Hall towards the council recommendations and made obvious the issues, which will be reflected in the new budget, including envisaging gender components in social infrastructure, programs assisting children – autists and many others. According to members of self-government, new initiatives of council, in social sphere as well, will be necessary for the city.
Self-government representatives underlined new and productive relations with self-government. The proof of that is presenting own representative in the City Hall Council, that gives possibility of closer communication and collaboration.

On September 26 and 29, three blocks of “Gender News” were devoted to the results of the work of Batumi GAC.
By the position of the council, in future budget of the city there must be reflected recommendations, elaborated as a results of the research. There was a conversation regarding trainings with self-government staff, which covered the issues of gender education, including the most important challenge – discrimination by gender point of view and different types of violence. There were also revealed the mechanisms against domestic violence and possibilities and responsibility of self-government for problem solution.
