We, the people of Georgia, strongly oppose the bill initiated by the members of the Parliamentary The majority, is also endorsed by the Speaker of Parliament and other MPs. We declare that the attempts to adopt this Russian bill attack not only the independent civil society organizations and the critical media, but the people of Georgia themselves.

This bill aims to leave defenseless the abused children and women; people with disabilities, minorities, scientists, workers, and the youth; to not provide assistance to socially vulnerable families, farmers, miners, internally displaced, homeless, illegally laid off, detained, and other people fighting for their rights; to mute the voice of the people living in the peripheries of the country that can only communicate their troubles through the independent media.

 A meeting with the Women Initiative Group of the village Pakhulani - Tsalenjikha municipality was held on the topic: "Assessment of the quality of human security and gender needs of the population" The initiative group was provided with information on the methods of conducting the research. In order to effectively conduct the research process, the functions and responsibilities of the persons involved in the process of focus groups and interviews were distributed. The meeting with the Women Initiative Group of the village Didinedzi - Zugdidi municipality was traditionally interesting. This time the conversation touched on the topic "Assessment of the quality of human security and gender needs of the population". Respondents and target beneficiaries were selected. The project "Bridging the Gap – People to People Initiatives for Conflict Resolution" is implemented with the support of the USAID. At the same time, the youth initiative group of the village Didinedzi formed the forum theater. The group selected a problem, the second stage is the development of the scenario and the last stage is the preparation and rehearsal of the performance. The main goal of the "Forum Theater" is to inform the public and develop the skills of problem-solution based on other people's experiences.

A meeting with the Women Initiative Group of the village Koki - Zugdidi municipality was held on the topic: "Assessment of the quality of human security and gender needs of the population". The group members got acquainted with detailed information on the methods of conducting the research, the functions were also distributed. "Bridging the Gap – People to People Initiatives for Conflict Resolution" is implemented with the support of the USAID. The meeting in Zugdidi was also held with the members of the youth initiative group of the village Koki - Zugdidi municipality. The young people learned the importance of the 1325 and 2250 UN resolutions and what they can do to engage in the peace process and build trust. During group work, they raised interesting proposals and expressed their own opinions.

Our representative - Linda Chikhladze participated in the info-sharing meeting of the Secretariat of the Sustainable Development Goals Council.

The non-governmental organizations participating in the meeting received information regarding the mechanisms for promoting the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Among them, the activities and structure of the Sustainable Development Goals Council, the four thematic working groups included in it, and the opportunities and importance of being involved in them. Linda Chikhladze shared the best practices of the Women Fund “Sukhumi” work with them.

In order to implement the National Human Rights Strategy for the years of 2022-2030, the Government of Georgia started working on the development of the new National Human Rights Action Plan. Members of the state agencies listed under the Government Decree N143 of March 2, 2022, representatives of international/donor organizations, as well as respresentatives of more than 80 NGOs attended the meeting, among Women Fund “Sukhumi”.

At the end of the meeting, the importance of the involvement of international and local non-governmental organizations in the drafting process of the National Human Rights Action Plan was once again underlined and the timeframe for their feedback on the first draft of the action plan was discussed. However, during the discussion, the representatives of local non-governmental organizations drew attention to the main challenge of cooperation on the part of state agencies, which implies not taking into account the recommendations offered by civil societies in the state policy. Of course, it makes each of us lose the motivation to work together. 

Any of us may face the need for emergency medical assistance. Proper first aid can save a person's life or relieve pain. It is desirable that everyone knows how to behave in such a situation.

This was the aim of the training, conducted by Gvantsa Kikaleishvili (Master Instructor of the Georgian Red Cross) and Irina Lataria (volunteer) at Tskaltubo Plaza Hotel. The training was about the correct and quick response in emergency situation, also about providing adequate first aid to the victim. The training was useful for all participants.

The Women Fund “Sukhumi” hosted Ukrainian refugees. Ukrainian psychologists Marina Stepanenko and Anna Shalimova conducted a training on the topic "Searching for a resource state to fights against stress."

10 women participated in the training. The training informed participants about what is stress and how it is expressed, there were exercises to identify stress and to find individual resources.

According to the participants, the training on native language, well chosen topics and role-playing therapy with each other is the best initiative of the Women Fund for their support.

“Nothing makes us happier than coming to the office of the Fund “Sukhumi”. You understand our pain and know how to help us. We want such meetings and exercises to be more intense,” said one of the training participants.

These women live in the village Pakhulani - Tsalenjikha municipality, not far from the conflict dividing line. Their empowerment is one of the challenges of the Women Fund “Sukhumi”. That is why the day rehabilitation center actively works here.

After completing the cutting and sewing courses, many success stories were accumulated. The process of women empowerment continues. This time, 10 beneficiaries of the day center completed a two-month computer technology course and received certificates.

Elguja Deisadze the Associate Professor of Kutaisi University conducted a training on business issues for the graduates of the Day Rehabilitation Center of the Women Fund "Sukhumi". The participants got a chance to find their own business, set goals correctly and take part in the competition of business projects. The winners of the competition will receive small grants and will be able to engage in economic activities.
