A working meeting with members of the project initiative group (IDP women and girls living in the building of the former Kutaisi Technical College and Clinical Hospital) was held in the office of the Fund “Sukhumi”.
The meeting participants spoke about the process of advocacy of problems, impact and changes, finished and unfinished work. They identified new problems that they plan to solve within the framework of the project.

An informational meeting on the topic of civil war was held in the IDP settlement on 58 Chavachavadze Street.
Women and girls who participated in the meeting discussed the identified problems related to the failure of the drainage system of the sports ground. Also, children's entertainment equipment is depreciated, which poses a threat to children's games.
Women are active and try to create a safe environment in their village through advocacy, using forms of civic engagement.

The Women Fund "Sukhumi" celebrated the International Day of Peace in the Peace Alley of the Youth Park. In frames of common initiatives, women and youth initiative groups presented Georgian, Abkhazian and Ossetian cuisine, described the composition of each dish and noted that it was prepared with love. Along with tasting the dishes, they tasted coffee on the sand. Also, an exhibition of thematic paintings, photos and a concert - poems and songs were organized. A quiz on the topic: “what do we know about Abkhazia” and the winner was announced.
An informational meeting with IDP women and girls was held in the library of the educational center of Khoni community. The participants were provided with information about the guide "Prevention and response to gender-based violence in war and post-war conditions - experience and recommendations of women’s NGOs". (Publisher - European Women's Network against Violence - WAVE).
The guidebook shows the successful practice of women's organizations during the war and in the post-war period. Particular attention was paid to the practice of the Women Fund "Sukhumi".
The participants of the meeting were familiarized with the training module on this topic, within the framework of which trainings are held and the society is informed about the best practices and strategies of women's organizations.

Five municipalities: Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Zugdidi and Senaki participate in the project “Network of Women and Young Women Peace Ambassadors”. Civil initiatives were discussed in these municipalities and 12 applications were submitted within the framework of the project.
A discussion of civil initiatives was held in the office of the Women Fund “Sukhumi”. The commission selected the initiatives that will be financed within the framework of the project. At the next stage, women's civil initiative groups will begin implementing their initiatives in all five municipalities.

Head of the Women Fund "Sukhumi" Tbilisi office, Ekaterine Gamakharia, participated in the 2024 Open Day for Regional Women, Peace and Security Dialogue, held on 5-6 September in Chisinau, Moldova, where she moderated a panel discussion on "Leveraging Women’s and Youth Agency for Social Cohesion and Recovery." The discussion focused on key barriers that women and youth faced in social cohesion and recovery efforts across Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, and Moldova, as well as strategies to measure progress towards sustainable peace and reconstruction.
The event provided a vital platform for women peace activists to address challenges, share solutions, and strengthen the implementation of the WPS agenda across the region. It aimed to generate key actions and messages to enhance cooperation with the UN and other international partners.
An online meeting was held within the framework of the project "Network of Women and Young Women Peace Ambassadors". The meeting was attended by members of the Women Initiative Groups of Kutaisi, Tskaltubo, Khoni, Zugdidi and Senaki municipalities. They presented information on the needs identified in the IDP communities and developed civil initiatives according to with the target municipalities.
The group members are ready to implement civil initiatives. The completed project will help mitigate the expected risks caused by the problems.

In the framework of the project “IDP Women and Girls – Participants of the Needs Based Local Policy Development of in Kutaisi”, information meetings on forms of civic engagement in IDP communities continue.
Project participant Ekaterine Silagadze shared the gained knowledge with IDPs living in a house on 21 Zakariadze Street.
The main problem of the settlement is the damaged façade. The need to install benches was also emphasized. In order to solve the problems, the initiative group will prepare a letter and contact the relevant local government services for response.

An online meeting was held with members of Khoni Women's Network. The participants discussed the selected priority issues for which financial support is provided within the framework of the project. The network participants got acquainted with the documents on financing civil initiatives and the deadlines for submitting project proposals. Particular attention was paid to the application form.
It was noted that solving the problems within the framework of the civil initiatives competition will contribute to the creation of a safe environment for IDPs living in two residential buildings of Khoni community.
