Meetings - in this category there is an information about meetings in frames of Fund “Sukhumi” projects - meetings with beneficiaries, representatives of state structures, local and international non-governmental organizations.
On June 20 – international day of refugees and IDPs. This day in Kutaisi, in TBC gallery there was held presentation of NGO activities and exhibition of handmade of participants.
Together with the NGOs, governmental structures and educational premises, there was shown IDP community with its everyday life, achievements…
The meeting was attended by members of Kutaisi Sakrebulo, representatives of partner organizations and mass - media.
Information about current project, familiarization with research results, discussion of the new project – GAC of Kutaisi held ordinary meeting regarding these issues.
In frames of GAC project there was held a cycle of workshops with the students. What was shown: what is informing level of students on gender issues, what are their needs and what kind of recommendations do they suggest – these issues were evaluated by the students, who facilitated the workshops.
GAC members heard information about the results of gender research, conducted with different target groups. Discussion of recommendation will be continued at the following meeting and will be finished by creation of gender policy document.
At the end of meeting the participants discussed working variant of the new project, the aim of which is – creation of scenery for the puppet theatre on the issue of gender.
In frames of the project “Mobilization of the communities for the prevention of domestic violence” there was held meeting with representative of khoni Sakrebulo – Valeri yui96htadze and his assistant Ketevan Kupatadze. They familiarized with the action plan. As a result there were changes in the project – the work will be held in the villages Nakhakhulevi and Matkhoji instead of the villages Ivandidi and Kutiri.
During the meeting of Ozurgeti GAC there were discussed recommendation, elaborated in frames of research analysis of local needs. Meeting participants expressed opinion – despite the fact that at the given moment local self-government will envisage recommendations or not, all of them should me noted in the plan of gender policy of local self-government. After the completion of the project, self-government will have document, which will make easy the process of reflecting gender needs in the local budget.
Tskaltubo Women Support Center with financial support of the fund “Sukhumi began to implement a project “We will combate violence with knowledge”. In frames of the project, there were held informational meetings in Sakrebulo with representatives of local self-government. They received information about informational-educational work in the villages Khomuli and Tskaltubo.
Representatives of local government expressed readiness of support in implementation of activities.
For WSCs of fund “Sukhumi” announced grant competition in April. In May there were shown 6 project proposals. Commission supported all proposals. Implementation of the projects started from June 1. All projects are actual and interesting.
Women Support Center of Tskaltubo – “We will overcome violence with knowledge” – informational educational work with society in two villages of Tskaltubo Municipality.
Women Support Centers of Kutaisi – “From rich past to rich future” – organization of exhibition on June 20 on international day of IDPs and refugees.
Women Supporting Center of Khoni – “Informed women change the world” informational-educational work in three villages of the municipality and training for the representatives of the village.
Women Support Center of Senaki – “Informed Youth – against violence regarding women” – mobilization and informational-educational work with the youth of two villages of Senaki Municipality and support of the initiative of the youth.
Women Support Center of Poti – “Prevention of violence by popularization of healthy life-style” organizing sport competition.
Women Support Center of Khurcha (Zugdidi Municipality) – “Family without violence” informational-educational work in villages of Zugdidi Municipality.
The projects are in active phase. The work started and we want to wish success to the WSCs of Fund “Sukhumi”.
On June 14, in the conference hall of Khoni Saskrebulo, there was held ordinary meeting of advisors’ council in frames of the project “Inclusion of NGOs, working on the issues of social security in strategic dialogue of Georgia”. Council members discussed the issue of social service in the municipality and the issues, regarding the research of needs.
Project Manager familiarized the participants with the concept of the study and with the specific of selection of target groups. It was said that the well-defined criteria - the guarantor of the success of the research objectives.
It was agreed - a place and time, included social groups and decision-makers also the best place for focus groups.
It was expressed a hope that the information gained a s a result of the research will be a good platform for the involvement of local policies of social inclusion.
The project is funded by the European Union and carries out the Czech organization "People in Need» (PIN). The partner of the project in Khoni is the Fund "Sukhumi".
Mobilization meetings were held by the mobilizers of WSCs in towns and villages.
Thematic of 33 mobilization meetings was devoted to the international day of children protection, their duties, problems. Attention was paid on violation facts regarding children. It was noted why it is so important to have good communication with children.
The project of Tskaltubo Women Support Center "Knowledge will overcome the violence" has started
In frames of the project there was held informational meetings in the village of Tskaltubo and information booklets were distributed. These meetings help to inform villagers about the problem of violence against women.
In May the work of Women Support Centers was busy as usual. Mobilizers of WSCs of Kutaisi, Khoni, Poti, Senaki, Tskaltubo and Khurcha/Koki (Zugdidi municipality) are in close cooperation with the beneficiaries.
Topics of mobilization – informational meetings were – family, rights and duties of people, domestic conflicts and mediation, facts of violence in family, influence of violence on psycho-emotional condition of children.
During the meeting participants received information regarding the programs of local self-government and existing social packages.
